Coconut Banana Smoothie with toasted almonds, peanut butter, and honey! So creamy and delicious.

I had a super aha moment this morning. I’m feeling pretty silly about it so no making fun!

I have no experience with a camera except for what I’ve been slowly teaching myself since starting to blog this past year. It’s been a learning curve for sure and the majority of my successes have come from constant trial and error. If you’re not familiar with photography, feel free to skip over my recent discovery! Also, for you camera buffs, feel free to have a laugh at me, but not for too long. 🙂

Anyways, a few days ago when I was making this quick video on Banana Bread Energy Bites, I watched a few online tutorials to know how to adjust my camera settings appropriately. It was suggested that I shoot video at a 16:9 ratio and that I would need to go into my settings to adjust it as it probably wasn’t in that mode already. I found the setting and was super confused, because for some reason mine was already set to 16:9. Fishy. So, after lots of reading this morning I realized that for the last however many months I’ve been shooting in this long 16:9 format rather than the standard 3:2 that I should have been shooting in! Such a silly mistake, but we’re all good now and I’m excited to not have to style the long shots anymore!!! Also, these photos are my first shot in RAW. They seem to be much crisper and the colors more true, so it’ll be fun to continue learning how to make my camera do more than I had been using it for in the past!

I seem to be a slowpoke at eating our bananas lately, so last week I had to throw about 5 in the freezer. They’ve been turning up in various meals the past few days and this easy peasy banana coconut smoothie is one of my favorite uses for those overripe ‘nanas. I’ve been avoiding as much unnatural sugar this week as possible because my sweet tooth is out of control, so this smoothie is the perfect way to satisfy my cravings. I used honey as my sweetener and of course bananas have natural sugars in them as well!

Anytime coconut, chocolate, peanut butter, and almonds are involved, I wanna be invited!
