You guys all know how to make a smoothie, right? You probably have your go-to for everyday mornings/afternoon snacks, but everyone needs a little variety every once in awhile, right? A little extra spice in your life? Some smoothie flair for those crazy hot summer days??

Our Ninja broke a few months ago and I had all but thrown it in the trash, thinking our days of blending were long gone until we could afford a new one. Turns out, the long crack on the side of the pitcher isn’t so bad! As long as I hold a dish towel against it while I’m doing my blending, only a few drops squeeze out, and the rest of the blending is totally fine. That’s not to say I don’t have dreams about one day owning the coveted Vitamix or Blendtec, but for now, we’re getting along just fine. Buuuuttttt, if any of you know anybody who might be able to hook a girl up, LMK!

I’m a big smoothie fan, but am sorta picky with my ingredients. First of all, the fruit has to be frozen. I’m more of an icey smoothie girl than a yogurty smooth kind of person. Also, I find that when you don’t use frozen fruit, your smoothie heats up too quickly and I get that “I’m drinking warm milk” kind of feeling.

My second criteria is limited veggies. I’ve tried, you guys. I’ve tried kale, spinach, broccoli, carrots, cucumber, etc… Carrots are fine, spinach is a little less than fine, but still tolerable, and the rest, no. Just no. I made a broccoli, mango, banana, papaya smoothie a few months ago and it just looked like broccoli cheese soup and tasted like nothing I ever want again. We tried so hard to drink it, but made it about 1/3 of the way through and just couldn’t.

This smoothie though, does everything right. It’s got the frozen fruit, it’s got just the right amount of sweet and tang, it’s got the burst of spice from the cinnamon, and it couldn’t be more refreshing on a hot summer day!
