Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Scones

Scones

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons chilled butter (affiliate)
  • 12 strawberries, chopped
  • 3/4 cup half and half

Chocolate sauce


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Cut in chilled butter until flour is a sandy texture.
  4. Gently mix in strawberries and half and half just until dough comes together. It will be sticky.
  5. Pat mixture out on cutting board dusted with flour into a round disc about an inch thick.
  6. Cut into 12 wedges then place on greased or parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly brown on top and sides.
  8. While scones are baking, melt chocolate chips and butter together, either by microwaving on low heat or using a double broiler on the stovetop.
  9. When scones are done, let cool for a few minutes on cooling rack then spoon chocolate over top and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
