Tasty Tuna Cat Treats

When I started my blog in January, I told my 8 year old niece that the name was going to be “Kitschen Cat”. She responded, “Is it a blog for cat food recipes??” Although a genius idea (only half kidding), I decided my dishes would primarily be for humans, with maybe an occasional cat treat. To celebrate Sir Percival’s 2nd birthday, I decided to branch out a bit and make these homemade delicacies. Much healthier than the little crunchy Whisker Lickins’ I feed him every once in a while I’m sure!

I wasn’t completely thrilled to be making a tuna/egg/cornmeal concoction due to the strange scent and texture, but it really wasn’t bad at all! If you do have a cat though, I would HIGHLY recommend placing them in another room while you work on getting these in the oven. Sir Percival can wake up from a dead sleep at the other end of our duplex to a whiff of tuna, so I wasn’t gonna take any chances of him devouring the dough. So funny. It’s like me eating all the chocolate chip cookie dough before it gets made into cookies.

The dough was quite easy to work with and I found the adorable little bone cookie cutter at the Kitchen Window down the street. I understand that bones aren’t usually associated with cats but I thought it was cute, ok?? (and they didn’t have anything cat like… like a fish or a bird.) I promise, your cat isn’t gonna care when it gets a whiff of their tasty tuna treat.
