Pair the #perfectcoffeeathome with these delicious fluffy waffles for a cozy holiday morning.
At the Van Slyke household we do pour-over coffee because it’s easy and low maintenance. I’ve been afraid of coffeemakers because they just have always seemed so bulky and confusing to control, let alone getting the proportions right for an actual good cup of coffee! Well, BUNN contacted me a couple of weeks ago to see if I wanted to try their BRAND NEW Home Brewing Coffeemaker and I was skeptical at first. I wasn’t sure if it would be a beneficial addition to our home, but the first time I made a cup of coffee, I was sold.
There are some really awesome features, like being able to set a timer before you go to bed at night and then wake up in the morning to freshly brewed coffee! The water takes 10 minutes to heat up and the coffee brews in about 6 minutes, so you can time it to be ready the second your alarm goes off. It’s been very reliable and so easy to program that my fears of a “grown-up” coffeemaker have gone away.
I don’t know about you, but I feel the pace of life picking up as it always does before the holidays. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love EVERYTHING about this time of year, but it’s so important to budget your time so that you have the capacity for the things that really matter. To make sure I’m doing this this season, I’ve been looking for ways to shave time off of my regular daily activities. I’ll be making big batches of breakfast like these waffles so we have grab and go food in the morning and I’ll be finding my inner barista to create a perfect, smooth tasting coffee like the BUNN HB Coffeemaker creates!
If you’re looking for a sleek coffeemaker (that has met the Specialty Coffee Association of America’s (SCAA) professional standards), you can check it out at Williams-Sonoma online or in-store. It would make a great Christmas gift this year or even a treat for yourself!
These waffles. They’re everything that’s good about the holidays in one bite. We often get stuck in breakfast ruts that consist of eggs, oatmeal, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, breakfast tacos (with eggs), maybe some steel cut oats, and the occasional pancake! Our waffle maker lives in the back of one of our low cupboards and often gets forgotten for months at a time. That’s just not right – waffles are too darn good to forget about for too long. I’m making a vow to myself that waffles will no longer be the forgotten breakfast item. I made these a few days ago along with seriously the perfect cup of coffee and they were the bees knees. Light and fluffy and rich from the buttermilk along with the tangy cranberries and drizzled with sweet maple syrup, I think these need to be our new winter staple.

These waffles look amazing! I agree the pace of life does pick up dramatically around the holiday season! These waffles and a cup of coffee a perfect way to slow it down a little!
