Crispy sweet potato fries topped with queso, black beans, Mezzetta’s spicy sliced jalapenos, and cilantro is the perfect summer appetizer to kick off your outdoor parties!
Newsflash guys. I’m pretty sure summer is here. It’s been a consistent 90+ degrees down here in Austin for the last week and I’m even seeing temps into the 100’s later on this week! Eeeek!! Let’s think positive here. Lots of swimming and lots of BBQ’s with friends will get us both through the next couple of months. We really need to get our hands on a grill, because my willingness to turn the oven on is going to be expiring in 3….2…..1. If you’re in the same boat, check out THIS GIVEAWAY – I’m partnering with Mezzetta this month and they’re giving away some awesome prizes, including a couple of grills and a super fun summer entertaining kit!
I know entertaining sometimes feels like a lot of work, so here’s what you do.
#1. You put your husband in charge of all things grilling.
#2. You put together a couple of easy apps to feed your guests while the meats or veggies are cooking.
#3. See #2: make these super quick and easy finger licking good sweet potato nachos with spicy Mezetta jalapeño peppers.
#4. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your guests!
I’m a huge fan of sweet potato fries and an even bigger fan of queso, so why not combine the two and then top them with everything else that’s good in the world?? The deli-sliced Mezzetta jalapeño peppers were an obvious choice for me to provide a little kick to my nachos because they’re not so crazy spicy that you start crying, but they provided just the right amount of kick. They’re also harvested at the peak of ripeness from local farmers around the world, so you can always trust you’ll be getting a great batch!
One last thing. When you have your big summer bbq bash, don’t forget to invite me!!
Many thanks to Mezzetta for sponsoring this post!
